Hutto Clinches Top Four in Houston

SPRING, TX. (Jun. 27, 2020): Following last weeks NHRA divisional event in Houston, Justin Hutto and company officially clinched the #4 position in NHRA South Central division points within the highly competitive Competition Eliminator category. Going forward, Hutto can secure the #1 spot in the South Central division with a victory at his next NHRA Divisional in Topeka, KS, July 23-26.

During the rainy race weekend in Houston, Hutto qualified 10th in a stout 21-car field in Comp with a 6.82 @ 195 mph lap. Ultimately, he fouled out with a 0.002 second red light against the higher qualified, Sean Dodd. Hutto took an aggressive approach with his NGK powered, Mobil 1™ lubricated B/DA dragster, posting a .006 and perfect .000 light in his previous two shots.

Hutto also made a valiant effort in his NGK Spark Plugs and Mobil 1™ lubricants equipped ’69 Corvette Stingray in Stock Eliminator, coming up short by .007 seconds against semi-finalist Phillip Giles. He now sits #15 out of 86 in Stock Eliminator South Central division points.

State Farm Agents Partner with Hutto to Give Free Entries and More at Houston Races

HOUSTON, TX. (March 15, 2019)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Justin Hutto and his team have confirmed that they’ll be joining forces with State Farm agencies across Houston during the NHRA Divisional event in Houston, as well as the NHRA Spring Nationals. This sponsorship is a milestone moment for Hutto who has ambitions to race Top Fuel dragsters in the future. During these two events, State Farm will award two winners their choice of: (1) free entry to NHRA division four event, (2) free weekend passes to NHRA Spring Nationals, or (3) cold hard cash.

“This has all been a learning experience. From selling this deal, to now executing it, it’s been a lot of learning as I go,” said Hutto, who will drive a Comp Eliminator dragster and Stock Eliminator Corvette while representing State Farm. “To be able to tie Sportsman Drag Racing to the business needs of State Farm agencies is incredible, and I look forward to proving to each agency owner that their investment in Drag Racing was the right choice. I’d like to see them around for years to come.”

To kick off the partnership, State Farm agents will be on site at the NHRA Texas Sportsman Challenge at Houston Raceway from March 22-24. Their booth will be located next to the concession stands at the race. Racers and race fans will be able to compete for the prizes mentioned by simply making three hits on a practice tree. The person who posts the best reaction time throughout the weekend will be announced the winner and will have their choice of the three prize options. State Farm agents will be hosting the competition at the following times:

  • Friday, March 22, 10:00am-4:00pm
  • Saturday, March 23, 10:00am-4:00pm
  • Sunday, March 24, 10:00am-2:00pm

“The racers and fans interaction with State Farm agents at their tent is really what’s going to take to make this deal work”, said Hutto. “The more people at the booth throughout the weekend, the more successful this partnership will be. I think the prizes we’re offering are really cool, so I’m confident next weekend will be successful on and off the track.”
